Oak Grove & Walnut Grove Cabins are located about 7 miles south of Carbondale in the beautiful rolling hills of southernmost Illinois. We are located in Makanda, Il, and are in the heart of the Shawnee Wine Trail and Shawnee National Forest. Minutes from Giant City State Park, Little Grand Canyon, Pomona Natural Bridge, River to River Trail, and Carbondale. Southern Illinois has seven wilderness areas and nine state parks, plus lakes, river, waterfalls, and a swamp to explore. The Shawnee National Forest is also a great place to visit during your stay.

Directions

Directions to Oak Grove Cabin: From Carbondale take Highway 51 south. Turn right on to Old Highway 51 South. Old Highway 51 is the 2nd stop light past Pleasant Hill Road on the south side of Carbondale. Go 3.5 miles south on Old Highway 51 and turn right onto McGuire Road. Go about 1/4 mile on McGuire Road and then turn right on Oak Grove Road (watch for deer!). The Cabins are all the way at the end of Oak Grove Road. Gravel Driveway is on the left. Follow the signs to Cabin 1, Cabin 2, or Cabin 3.
